Update – Feb 7, 2011 – Legislation to add extra weeks for 99ers
Democratic Reps. Barbara Lee (Calif.) and Bobby Scott (Va.) are reintroducing legislation this week to provide additional weeks of unemployment insurance benefits for “99ers,”
Main article
In 2009, the 2009 stimulus package was created by President Obama and provided extra funding for states to extend the length of unemployment benefits if necessary. Most states have a fixed number of weeks available for benefits but can increase the number of weeks if necessary. The Florida unemployment rate in April was 9.6%.
The state of Florida recently approved an extension of the unemployment benefits by 20 weeks as a result of Senate Bill 810 sponsored by Sen. Rudy Garcia, R-Miami and Rep. Dave Murzin, R-Pensacola. This applies to unemployed persons who have already used up the previous maximum of 59 weeks of unemployment benefits. The legislation allowing this EB extension was signed by Governor Charlie Crist and will provide more benefits for up to 250,000 unemployed Floridians. The payments will be up to $300 per week.
The money to pay for these extended benefits will come from the stimulus package of 2009 – about $415 million in total.
The agency responsible for these benefits is called the Agency for Workforce Innovation – they expect to start sending out the extended benefit checks in July. According to a spokesman from the agency Robby Cunningham – some people might be able to collect benefits retroactive to February of 2009.
“It’s actually retroactive to February 22nd of this year so some qualifying receiptence could receive initial payments up to 5,100 dollars.”
Please note that any retroactive payments will be from February 22, 2009 or when your last claim ran out – whichever is later.
How to apply for extended benefits
If you qualify for the extended 20 weeks then you still have to apply – go to www.floridajobs.com and click on the big red “Extended Benefits” square near the top of the right side of the screen. The actual link which will open up the application form is here. You can also fill in and mail the EB application to the address indicated on the EB notice/application you will be receiving in the mail.
How do I know if I’m eligible?
Here are a few guidelines you can use to determine eligibility:
- You are totally or partially unemployed.
- You exhaust all entitlement to regular and emergency unemployment compensation (EUC) benefits prior to February 22, 2009 but your benefit year ends after February 22, 2009.
- You exhaust all entitlement to regular and emergency unemployment compensation benefits after February 22, 2009.
- You are not eligible for unemployment compensation benefits in any state (including Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, The District of Columbia) or Canada.
- You satisfy all requirements of the Florida UC Law that apply to regular UC and EB, such as being able and available for work, and have not been disqualified from receiving benefits based on your reason for separation.
- You actively seek work for each EB week claimed and provide the work search record as instructed.
- You do not refuse an offer of suitable work or fail to apply for suitable work.

But says it is unlikely to pass in the Senate
So when are we going to know for sure?
Thx so much for keeping us posted!!!!
The republicans attached riders to the bill. Never will pass. I cannot believe politicians. Every day I find them more reprehensible. Putting a Keystone pipeline in the bill. Unreal. I guess the republicans want us not only to have no jobs but dirty water, land and air. Gotta love em!!!
Stupid House approved the Tax Extension, but you know why? they want to cut weeks to the unemployment from 99 weeks to 52 in order to pay for that. Outrageous! President will veto same. This is war against the unemployed. If I could I would spit on the faces of all of those uncaring souls that approved this, thinking that they could attack the unemployment weeks, the way things are. Again, this is outrageous!
The pipeline is a good thing. It is. A gift from Canada not costing the US. It is shovel ready to put a lot of people to work so they don’t have to watch cspan and collect UE. It has been researched by the US and shown to be safe. If we don’t do it it will be given to china(not a good thing). Tell the Obama adm. To pass it and you will get jobs plus UE. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
What extension was approved? Sorry if I am confused. My first and only extension ends on January 6 or 7th and after that I dont have anything else to collect according to the last phone call I made to the unemployment office a couple of weeks ago. Does this mean that an extension was granted so that I can continue to collect? I do not find any job no matter how hard I look. I am so stressed out over not having any income, it’s making me sick. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you to all of you that are keeping track of what’s going on.
I do my research Gail. The pipeline is only being buildt to lessen the amount of time that it takes to get to refineries. It has not being very well that i why President Obama delayed it. It goes over an aquifer that supplies 8 states with water. Would you live there and drink the water seeing if the pipeline broke or an “accident” happens that your water could be tainted for 8 states? This just in, if you have no water Gail, you no life. Do your research please. I would rather have a job than EU. I hope to have one early next year. Extending benefits doesn’t do anything but lead to the inevitable conclusion that those benefits can and will run out also. There won’t be 8 million plus jobs added to the country miraculously through this stalled economy. You and many others are also being discriminated against because of age, experience, and yes, being out of work to long. That’s the new America here. Sad but true. Payret, no extension was approved. The Congress is trying to extend the tax benefit for working people in the U.S. It is currently 4.2 % and will go up to 6.2% in January. Doesn’t affect you. What does is they want to extend the Emergency unemployment benefits for all those 1.8 million people that will lose them after Jan 1, 2012. Congress only wants to extend it for 59 more weeks. There are 4 tiers congress approved in the past. This congress only wants to give you 2 Tiers. First for 20 weeks and the next for 13 not 14 weeks. This extension will not affect the 99er’s. Just those whose benefits runs out by Jan. Which means you. Gail i also live in Florida, not where the pipeline gets built. That is for all those great govt contractors that suck up to the Fed govt to get if it ever gets built which i doubt it.
man i should of corrected my grammer. horrible. oh well.
This is a new discussion, and related to all of us,especially those who are out of work and are 99rs or even still collecting, especially if you are 65+.
This really affects those on MEDICARE.
• FOR ALL WHO SHOP OR GET PRESCRIPTIONS AT “WALGREENS”-IF YOU ARE 65 OR OLDER YOU CANNOT USE THE WALGREENS DISCOUNT CARD FOR 3 MONTHS OF MEDICATION FOR $12.00–THEY HAVE SIGNED AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GOVERNMENT THAT PEOPLE ON MEDICARE-(THAT COULD BE YOUR PARENTS TOO) 65 OR OLDER MUST GO THRU MEDICARE,EVEN IF IT COSTS MORE.

ALSO- 65 AND OLDER MAY NOT BUY THE DISCOUNT CARD TO GIVE THEM DISCOUNTS ON ANY WALMART BRAND PRODUCTS. SO IF YOU WANT TO BUT A GENERIC WALGEEENS PRODUCT AND ARE 65 YEARS OLD YOU CANNOT USE THE “PAID FOR “WALGREENS CARD”- TO GET A LESS EXPENSIVE OTC GENERICS, YOU MUST GO ELSEWHERE. THIS ALONG WITH PERSONS 65 YEARS + NOT BEING ALLOWED TO GET 3 MONTHS OF THEIR GENERIC DRUGS BECAUSE THEY ARE ON MEDICARE AND 65 OR OLDER IS OUTRIGHTAGE DISCRIMINATION. THEY HAVE SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH THE GOVERNMENT DISCRIMINATING AGAINST SENIORS. IF YOU ARE UNDER 65 AND HAVE PRESCRIPTION COVERAGE YOU CAN USE THEIR CARD FOR THE 3 MONTH GENERIC DRUGS FOR $12.00 BUT 65 OR OLDER IS A NO!
• THE STRORE PHARMACY MANAGER, STORE MANAGER AND WALGREENS CORPORATE HAVE ALL INFORMED ME OF THIS!
• PLEASE HELP!!!!! MAKE THE SENIORS IN AMERICA AWARE OF THIS!
ALSO ON MEDICARE YOU ALL HAVE A “DONUT HOLE” SO UP UNTIL APROXIMATLEY $2,900 YOU GET YOUR MEDICATIONS AT GREATLY DISCOUNTED PRICES AND EVERYONE “THINKS” THIS IS A WONDERFUL DISCOUNT- WELL GUESS WHAT- WHAT YOU PAY FOR YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS ADDED TO THE CONTRACTED COST THAT EACH PHARMACY HAS WITH MEDICARE (THE GOVERNMENT) AND THE COST OF THE CONTRACTED PRICE “ALONG WITH” YOUR COPAY IS WHAT GOES INTO THE “DONUT HOLE”- NO REAL DISCOUNT, AS YOU GET YOUR MEDICATIONS AND PAY FOR THEM THE GOVERNMENT GETS THAT TOO AND YOUR “DONUT HOLE” IS EATEN UP VERY QUICKLY.
IF YOU CAN FIND A DISCOUNT CARD OUT THERE, THAT DOES NOT AFFECT MEDICADE, THE GOVERNMENT OR MEDICARE “DONUT HOLE” AND YOU ARE NOT RIPPED OFF AGAIN.
I AM VERY SURE OF ALL THIS AND HAVE DONE MY HOMEWORK.
MY HUSBAND AND I ARE ON EXPENSIVE DRUGS AND RECIEVE $400
A YEAR TOO MUCH IN OUR SOCIAL SECUITY TO QUALIFY FOR “EXTRA HELP” –SO ALL OF US 65+ WHO CANNOT FIND JOBS ARE BEING TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT AND BIG BUISNESS.
“PLEASE, LET’S GET THIS NEWS OUT THERE, CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, LET WALGREENS KNOW THEY ARE PRACTICING AGE DISCRIMINATION BY TAKING $4.00 GENERICS AWAY FROM THE 65+ ALONG WITH THE WALGREEN BRAND IN STORE WALGREEN GENERIC PRODUCTS YOU COULD GET WITH THE $35.00 “W” CARD” THAT WOULD NOT GO INTO YOUR DONUT HOLE. REMEBER IF YOU ARE ANY AGE UNDER 65, EVEN WITH INSURANCE YOU CAN BUY THE CARD THAT SAVES YOU HUNDRED IF NOT THOUSANDS A YEAR, BUT AGE DISCRIMINATION OF 65+ AND OUR GOVERNMENT HAVE STOPPED THIS AND THE OLDER POPULATION WHO LOST THIER JOBS ARE REALLY PAYING THE PRICE! IT COULD BE YOU, A FRIEND OR RELATIVE.
I was talking about the paycheck tax, not the UE, many people just call it the TAX Extension so hence my using such wording. Sorry if this caused any confusion. Obama wanted to add the Unemployment Extension to the tax bill and I, together with thousands of others, including many unemployeds here, were waiting more than impatiently, I would say, going nuts waiting for this to happen because I do not want to end up in a refuge for women or sleeping in whatever hidden corner that finds me at night, and that is surely what will happen if they do not extend those tiers, even if it is one or two, which will add relief to our anguish and our well being, I have already packed a bunch of things in boxes and given them to a friend that will save them in her garage, and, well, let’s hope for the best, and I mean it 500%.
Beatrice, I,m with you on that!!! I said it before. Half of America will be homeless if as unemployed don,t get help from EXTENION. I,m losing my mind over this. I,m 50 yrs. old And never been this scared. I,m in tier 2 it end on the dec.19th. I pray to GOD I go into tier 3. Or homeless I become…
Larry- You are mis-informed on the pipeline. It is being built to get newly discovered Canadian oil into US refineries for US consumption. (Otherwise Canada will sell it to China) . In case you didnt know, the largest forgein exporter of oil to the US is our good friends to the north in Canada. Pipelines are largley safe (if you have data to the contrary please post it here) . The orginial plan ran the pipeline in the vicinity of the aquafier (thousands of feet above it and argueably not a safety hazard) . One of the Governers objected to this, the sponsors of the pipeline agreed to reroute the pipeline. This project will genereate ~20K jobs not to mention WE NEED THE ENERGY!!! Unfortuanately our Prez thinks he has some constituents he has to service by post-poning the decision on this until after next year’s election. (when he should be trying to solve this Unemployment problem by encouraging job growth such as this ) . The “payroll-tax” is the Social Security Tax. Social Security was sold to us on the basis it was self funded. By simply continuing to wave the witholding tax to support it, will simply hasten its trajectory to bankruptcy. Fortunately for those of us receiving unemployment checks, SS is not being witheld in any event, thus we are receiving the luxary of no payroll tax on our benefits. If the Prez wanted to solve a problem here, he would sign the bill that the House just passed.
Hi All! It’s always great to see some names from the past. Hope everyone is hanging strong & doing well!
Smiles to all 🙂
Vince, you will go on to Tier 3 and that’s it, just like me, unless these at Congress do something not to favor the millionaires but to favor us, the needy, the ones without a job thru no fault of our own and wanting to work more than anything in this world, a new Tier or Tiers would at least, in my case, continue paying my only room with a bed and a microwave, that I rent in a house, I have been applying everywhere, a never ending story, when that Tier 3 stops that’s it, I don’t have anywhere to go at all, unless I head to a refuge or find a cozy place under a bridge to set up “house”, and that is very extremely dangerous and unthinkable for a lady, my Tier 2 ends when I call in to report on Tuesday the 20th, and they told me at the unemployment center that I would automatically enroll on Tier 3 and that was it. I imagine you, Vince, have a huge problem of your own too, that might be maybe similar or somewhat similar to mine and to other friends here at the Forum and elsewhere in this country. This isno joke and our sanity and well being are totally and undoubtedly slowly entering a terrible, hazardous future. I am checking the news all day as I believe they need to come to a conclusion favorable to all before tomorrow, otherwise the govt is threatened to be closed. see you all later on.
Girl I truly fill you pain. I,ve been out of work for over a year. I sent resume from mikey d,s to Nasa. I spent 15 yrs. in the navy for this. What a country. Costa rica here I come. This is Just plain B.S to lose all I worked for in 40 yrs. Come on people Think very hard before you vote!!! Our country is fast become a 3rd world country…..
Well Tom,
I am pretty well informed about the pipeline and i haven’t heard of any “new” oil discovered in the Tar sands area. Tar sands are tar sands. It is all low grade crude that “only” china would want because it has a sulfur content which no refineries like to use except us and China. It is harder to refine than the sweet crude that comes out of the middle east and other parts of the world. It takes more energy to refine this oil than any other on the planet. Millions of gallons of water and natural gas to refine that crap coming out of the ground. You should read an article that National Geographic published last year on the oil sands. You would be quite sick to your stomach what they are doing to the arboreal forests and land area there. Thousands of birds die every year landing on the dump pits that are holding areas for the polluted water. You are correct that they will sell to China but do you know that they are having a hard time building another pipeline they want to go to the pacific coast. It is being stopped because they “the oil companies want to build it through a pristine environment. I hope that doesn’t go through either. The reason the pipeline is controversial is because it is going to going thru the aquifer region. Yes, you are correct that an alternate route was proposed just recently because of this stoppage, the Canadian govt did say they would possibly spend an additional 7 billion to reroute the pipeline but more environmental studies have to still be done. Remember who originally done the studies? The same ones that were hired by the “oil companies”. A bit bias there if your checks are coming from the same company that wants to built it. Conflict of interest i think. once this pipeline is done, the jobs go away. They aren’t permanent. I don’t know about you, but i wouldn’t want a giant pipeline through my state. With all the spills that the Alaskan pipeline has had in all the years it has been up. Please remember, they don’t tell the public every day how many spills or “accidents” they have out there. Only when it gets big enough do they find out. Oil is dirty and we need alternative energy sources that we can’t seem to find. Hmmm? Wonder why? Big oil has money, and hmm? oh yeah, the car industry has money. You think? they have been bed partners for decades. So Tom, tell me where to find this information about new tar sands. I would love to read it if you have it. Like i said, I haven’t heard of any “new” oil discoveries up there in Canada and I’m Canadian. Let me know
I will look up information on the Alaskan pipeline that has been up an running in Alaska for decades. Just remember though, there aren’t that many people that are affected by spills there, more animals than people. And who cares about animals, right? Yes, you are correct in stating that our friends to the north are our 1 exporter for oil into the states. Saying a pipeline that goes over your water will not eventually go into the ground water is kinda ludicrous to me. When and if they clean up the spill, if one were ever to occur which is likely, where do you think all that oil goes? You can’t possibly think that some would not leak into the underground aquifer. Do you know the U.S could save more oil in better fuel mileage and conservation than ever would be produced from the Tar sands? The problem with this country is the waste we produce. We don’t ever want to seem to conserve, only use. If this country really buckled down and spent half the money it spends on the military every year, we wouldn’t have a oil or energy crisis. It’s the want that is lacking in this country. Only country in the industrialized world without a high speed rail system. China is building a whole country worth of mag lev trains and will have them in less 20 years. That is want for you.
And while i am at it, hope you all get a nice present from our dear idiot congress friends. Hope you all get extensions for next year. Maybe instead of trying to figure out where to get the money to pay for it, they can look at each other and cut their pay and benefits!!! Hey that’s it. Wait they won’t wanna do that.
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/17/business/energy-environment/route-proposals-may-ease-an-oil-pipeline-bottleneck.html?_r=1
In the near term, Keystone XL is not about transporting more oil from Canada’s oil sands into the United States. By many estimates, existing cross-border pipelines will not run out of capacity until sometime between 2015 and 2017.
But many refineries on the Gulf Coast are designed to handle heavier crudes like those produced in Canada, and they are looking to replace lost supplies from Venezuela, which has a tense relationship with the United States.
This is cut out from the article. Will clear up why they are transporting the low grade crude to the south where “only” those refineries can handle the heavier crude.
Another article.

Looks like a deal was made regarding the tax bill and the Unemployment Extensions, for two months. I guess it will be a matter of waiting til it’s signed by the Prez and then find out how they are going to figure out who’s getting what and when.
Larry- you need to do some more homework. If you study the Alaska pipeline you would fine it has been beneficial to the surrounding wildlife. Given that pipeline is warmer than the surrounding environment, it has launched a boom in the carrabu population since they have a warmer place to habitate. Your premise is also mis-stated. Just because a pipeline runs somewhere, this doesnt = certain environmental disaster. There are thousands of miles of pipeline transporting oil, nat gas, various petroleum products and gosh knows what else all over our country. Despite all of this I dont see a environmental disaster in the headlines every day.
The states themselves have approved these pipelines, I believe that Nebraska had some concerns and they have agreed to re-rout the pipeline . Why would the state and localities approve this plan if it guaranteed pending environmental disaster. (because there isnt any)
Why would they invest in a new pipeline when (as you say) there is already a “over-capacity” of pipelines . (Corps dont throw money away like that) .
This activity means JOBS, which is what unemployment relief is supposed to be about in the first place. If you want to live in a cave lit by candles, thats up to you. But the rest of us need jobs, and energy is the life-blood of our economy. Please get out of the way so we can proceed with a productive job producing enterprise.
You are not alone, our Prez is not even sincere about this. His radical environmentalist base opposes this, yet his Union supporters back it. Therefore he is simply playing politics by delaying it. He will suck contributions from the environmentalist lobby before the election by trying to delay it. He will suck contributions from the Unions after the election by approving it.
Tom,
I do my homework. I am well aware of the Alaskan pipeline. If you bring facts, then you need to post the articles on where you get this information. If you read any of the articles that i posted here, you can see there is already a pipeline in place to transport the oil. It just needs to be extended. It is smaller and not as big but “why” don’t the oil companies want to extend it? hmm? You and me will agree to disagree on this subject. you are not going to change me and i am not going to change you Tom. Bring me the article please where Caribou population has exploded because of the pipeline. Are you sure their numbers haven’t exploded because their number one predator has been hunted into oblivion? The wolf? Look those articles up Tom and see why the Elk population and other animals have exploded since the wolf has been decimated in its region. If you want to debate me, bring some info where i can read this stuff. I am not going to believe any person that just posts here and says this and says that about the pipeline or anything else. And of course you don’t have to believe me either.
You have to read the over capacity to know what i mean. Read the article please that i posted. There is currently no pipeline in place to extend down to the Refineries. This pipeline was built for the Oil shale that is being fracted and extracted as we speak. With chemicals and crap loads of water that we all humans need for life. Try not drinking for 5 days Tom, see where that gets you. See, when people don’t live near areas like the pipeline and even our precious Gulf of Mexico that i live by, people don’t concern themselves with other people’s problems. Out of sight, out of mind. I bet you that you wouldn’t want to live where that pipeline is being built? Or would you? Then what happens to you when you can’t drink your water or work your land because a spill happened? Then what do you do Tom? See, people like you want things for so called jobs, but there are limits to what jobs we should produce, and what jobs we do produce. I like my land, my water, and my air clean. If you don’t then live where those things are the dirtiest. More power to you.
I don’t want to live in a cave by candles, but most of our power plants today Tom are powered by natural gas and coal. Small percentage are Nuclear. We don’t burn pure oil for our lights. If solar were cheaper, i would fit my whole house and go off the grid. no more bills. Yes, you can use solar for night time, you need a battery storage, that’s all.
Like i said Tom, we will agree to disagree, i would like that article though if you can find it about the Caribou using the pipeline for warmth. Seems to me, Caribou live in Alaska, i would think they would be used to the cold by now. Oh, by the way, just because you don’t read a disaster, doesn’t mean there not out there. Remember, every day there are small spills in the gulf of Mexico from oil platforms. they don’t report those, and even if they did, do you really think a news agency is going to report every day a spill in the Gulf? Read the environmental reports on the gulf oil spill. See how many spills that platform that blew up spilled into the gulf before the big one. There are countless thousands of capped wells leaking every day into the gulf.
Always remember
The difference between animals and humans is that animals change themselves for the environment, but humans change the environment for themselves.
Ayn Rand quote
Have a great weekend Tom
Tom,
Found an article you might want to read even though it is about Russia and the appalling environmental disaster they put on their environment every year. Found this in the reading since you talked about spills and oil in the U.S. This is taken out of this article. Most of them go unreported to let you know.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ap-enterprise-russia-oil-spills-050153139.html
This is from the above article:
The U.S., the world’s third-largest oil producer, logged 341 pipeline ruptures in 2010 — compared to Russia’s 18,000 — with 17,600 tons of oil leaking as a result, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Spills have averaged 14,900 tons a year between 2001 and 2010.
Enjoy
Good news about Canada they have the least amount of oil spills. Cut out of article. Oil leak is an oil leak though. Oil is a dirty no matter how you look at it.
Canada, which produces oil in weather conditions as harsh as Russia’s, does not see anything near Russia’s scale of disaster. Eleven pipeline accidents were reported to Canada’s Transport Safety Board last year, while media reports of leaks, ranging from sizable spills to a tiny leak in a farmer’s backyard, come to a total of 7,700 tons a year.
Hi Issa – I can’t get to the comments on the New York page for some reason. No I have not seen Sherri post in a while now. Haven’t seen Paul either. Hope everyone is OK!

Larry- If you care to trade personal insults with me you’ll find I am more than a match for somebody who sits in their parent’s basement in their underwear posting blather on line all day.
Here is your precious article which supports what I said about the Alaskan Caribou and more http://www.mrc.org/bmi/news/2006/_Alaska_Pipeline_Doomsayings_Revisited_.html
For a article to be meaningful it has to relevent to the subject at hand, which is building a pipeline with private money to create jobs and bring energy resourses to our country. A article about Russia is not relevent to this subject. Russia (and to a large degree China) dont give a hoot about their respective environments (compared to the US) . The United States has done more to clean up its messes and avoid polluting its environment than virtually any other industrialzied country. If you gave a hoot about the environment then you would want Canada to pipe this oil to the US instread of selling it to China for the minimum reason that the US will conduct good environmental practice with it as opposed to China (you cant see your hand in front of your face in Bejing on many ocassions)
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-12-19/death-by-air-in-beijing-exposes-pollution-s-untold-heart-risk.html
There is already 25,000 miles of pipeline in the Ogallala region
http://www.foxbusiness.com/2011/11/29/politicians-should-allow-creation-keystone-xl-pipeline/ With a good safety record. To put that in perspective 25K miles is roughly the distance around the world @ the equator. Nothing is risk free, weather you get out of your bathtub (if you have one) get into your car, or get on a airplane. For the return our country will get from this project and the desparatly needed jobs this is a good deal for the US and a job creator. Wake -up!
I do live in a area that is impacted by the health of the Gulf of Mexico, (btw- it appears that mother nature took care of much of the spill on its own) http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-08/bacteria-ate-oil-plume-new-study-says
Given this was the first major spill in 30 years, and there was a plausable assignable cause and corrective action applied. I am more than comfortable with drilling for oil in the Gulf (which is proceeding anyway regardless of the Keystone pipeline) If the US didnt drill in the Gulf it would be done anyway by other countries who’s off shore limits encompass the same underground pool of oil (that wouldnt be as prudent about environmental protections)
I dont care weather you agree or not, I am simply posting self evident observations about this project.

Hi Issa! Thanks for the posts about the extension. Does that mean then that it is a “for sure”? So, if my one and only extension ends in January 7th, then I should be able to get another extension of unemployment benefits? I am so overly concerned over not getting any more extensions and no money that I appreciate any information you can give me. Thx so much!!!
Here we go again. Another delay. And the ones suffering the results of the “delay” are us, the unemployed and the workers in general. Totally unreal.

Has anyone heard from Sherri? I read where she is moving . Hope she get on here soon; miss her input on things.
Merry christmas everyone!

12/24/11
They approved the extensions? I called unemployment office yesterday and I was told no extensions were approved. I dont understand. 🙁
Merry Christmas!!!!
this payroll extenson does not include any 99’ers only those whose benefits where set to expire at the end of december.
The new UE was approved already by the Congress and the Senate, now I believe will just have to be signed by the President, together with the Tax bill, I imagine it won’t take long but yes, after a weird, long fight it was finally approved on Friday morning with no more problems. Will have to keep a daily eye on this from now on to find out when it will be implemented at the Department of Unemployment Compensation. This is an utmost important matter and we should follow it thoroughly, I believe this will be forwarded to that department as soon as possible, hopefully!
Merry Xmas!
Has anyone heard about ” THE OLD 99ERS” the ones who have lost everything and still trying to keep their heads up, with the lies of the economy recovering.
How do you get the “Restore the American Dream Act” pushed through or made more public to the rest of the American people.
Hi Piefaces Mom!!! Hi Kimber!!!!……….long time
Unfortunately, nothing for us 99ers. This latest extends the deadline date by 2 months.
Hope everyone is okay. Merry Christmas & Smiles to all 🙂

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a good one today.
I got out of the hospital yesterday. I had(still have) Phnemonia but am getting better.
I am keeping you all in prayer. Something good has to come. The extention is nice but of no help to the 99,ers. Best wishes.
Heya Mark!
Tebow has done well for himself, but there is no shame in losing to New England either. I’m looking forward to seeing LSU and Alabama on the 9th.
Maybe the 99’ers will get something done for them in Feb when they have to address the UE issue again for the others which will expire.
Geez, I just went for kicks and checked out the Florida UE website and they’ve changed it a LOT. I wonder if that means they finally got a new computer back-end 🙂
Merry Christmas everyone.
