America is still hurting from the recession. Unemployment is high and the economy is not doing well. The country is just not growing fast enough to handle the large numbers of unemployed people.
People who don’t have jobs, tend not to have much money. People who don’t have much money, don’t spend much money. The economy slows down when too many people stop spending and indicators such as unemployment rates start to climb.

It’s not just the unemployed who aren’t spending, many employed people have cut back on their expenses for fear that they might lose their jobs or face wage cuts.
Another problem is the real estate crash. Owning a house that has fallen in value or is under water will often make a person more careful with their spending.
Stimulus check in 2011
One solution to get people spending is another stimulus check in 2011. In 2008, the government gave out money in order to help the economy. Checks of up to $600 per person were mailed out. It’s hard to tell if that stimulus was successful or not. The economy hasn’t recovered, however the economy might be worse, had it not been for that $600 stimulus check.
The government has not announced any plans to give out stimulus check in 2011, but if the economy does not improve in the next few months then it has to be a consideration.
Recent stimulus checks
2009 – $250 stimulus check was mailed out for recipients of Social Security, SSI and others.
This stimulus check was intended to make up for the fact that the Social Security raise for 2009 was zero, because of low inflation.
2008 – $600 per adult, $300 per child.
These 2008 stimulus checks were mailed out to everyone, unless your income was too high to qualify. The idea behind these checks was to help stimulate the economy.

I I have been searching the net for answers and have not found an answer yet. I was searching for the answer to the following question. Are we going to get a Stimulus Check in 2011. 2011 is almost one and I thought we would get a Stimulus this year. As I am on S.S. and have no oither money coming in I could use a lttle extra money t o help pay off my huge hospital bills I have. I owe two diffference hospitals and one doctor other than the one I see on regular basics.
When you get lest than $500. and I mean a lot less than $500. a month and is exspected to live on that for a month. You don’t know how hard it is to make it on that tiny little bit of money. I have no one to help me. I try to pay my monthly bills and my doctor bills. That is why I said a stimulus check for about $300.00 would help this time of year. My husband draws a small check too. But it takes most all of his to pay for his meds since he has cancer. So you see how hard it is for us to make it? Do you see why I have asked the question about Stimulus Checks?

Who qualifys for stimulas checks? People on ssi or social security?and. Who all gets it children and adults
both get it if your on S.S.I. OR Social Security both get it but as of right now we are not getting it for 2011 because they havent made an announcement as of now and the year is less than 3 weeks away so no1 will get it this year, as for 2012, who knows i guess we will find out by july if no1 gets it by then , then no1 will……im on S.S.I. as well and its a struggle every month my electric bill is about to be turned off with this 25 heap we got all it does is buy toliet tissue to blow my nose……..thanks …….let there be no lights for me this christmas season as i will be in the dark as of the 22nd enjoy your christmas everyone i will be looking out my window when it gets dark around 430pm …….
well its been 7 months since i wrote on here, at the library emailing because i am still paying off my electric bill…..thanks for no stimulas in 2011……2012 who knows it is almost july and i am guessing there will be no payment this year yet again so i will have to stay in the dark until september when i finally catch up with my bill…….thanks to the gov’t…….wow what a shame……they should be ashamed of themselves……
