VA Stimulus Check On The Way

26 Feb, and still no pay… This is actually quite interesting. It seems we are disecting the VA payout methodology? hehehe yeah, right!

No checks today for delivery at work and none in my account yet. I was born Halloween so I may be the last one to get it if the they go by birthday.

I am 80% Service Connected and my birthday is Oct 24 last 2 are 40 and I still haven’t got mine either. I read something that if you owe ANY money greater than 250.00 to the IRS, Student Loans, or any gov. agency that you would not be getting the payment and it would go to offset the debt. Hope I get mine soon! Both of my parents got theirs already but that was for SSI.

Maybe it will be given out alphabetically, just a thought. I haven’t gotten mine 38–July 9–last initial R. hmmmmmm

No check, no direct deposit, just nada….

However, I do recall the letter saying if you owe back taxes you can kiss that stimulus check goodbye. I’m on a payment plan with the IRS currently. Not sure if that would put a stay on receiving the stimulus check. I’m just hoping for the best but planning for the worst.

Good Morning to all, I would just like to say your posts have been really helpful. I am a female veteran getting service connected compensation. I received my direct deposit today as well. My last two are 38 and my birthday is Dec 3. Good luck to all of you still waiting, its coming.

I have called the VA saeveral times, and get a totally different storie each time I call. Today’s story is that there have not yet been any deposits made for anyone yet, but they expect to start this week. I am 50 percent service connected, BUT HAVE NOT GOT IT TO THIS DATE. I work for a cell center that makes deposits for ssi & ssa disabilities, and this is the NORM! lie, lie, lie, JUST TO GET OFF THE PHONE. I see the VA is NO different. Good Luck To

As of 10 mins. ago I hadn’t received mine. I started receiving my Va. Disability check non service connected in Mar. 1993. My last two are 62
and I have Direct Deposit. Will be glad to get it can use to pay off a bill or two.
Birthday is 7/51.

I just graduated this past May and I have student loans which are in the grace period. I emailed the VA to find out if I would be receiving the stimulus payment or if it would be credited towards my student loans (even though they are not in delinquent status). The response was an exact replica of the initial letter that I received. I emailed them back to explain that this did not answer my question and again asked about my circumstances. The next response was just a copy and past of the previous answer. I thanked them for the generic answer and for their lack of effort to actually answer my question. I don’t know why I expected any different, I should have known its like talking to a brick wall when dealing with the VA. I guess we are all just in wait and see mode. Good luck to everyone, I hope we all get it soon.

At least the s.s. admn. let the people know dates and etc. about there stimulus checks. The V.A. doesn,t know how to tell the truth are ther wouldn,t be so many different answer to so many people. What a shame on this gov. and the people who in the v.a. who is in charge of this mess. The v.a. precption plan sayes if you don,t send in the proper payment you will be charged interest by a certian date. Hang in there you,all.

My birthday is 3/1; my last two: 97; I have direct deposit and no check as of today. I am 70% ….and waiting for that check and for the authorization of my increased rating so I can get that also. Will have 11 months backpay coming for that. Was in ratings from January until the authorization process that supposedly started last week….will see how long that one takes..

I hate to add another angle to this, but I have called the VA twice. Both times they hinted around that it would be by ZIP code. Who knows!! Just thought I would share.

There probably is a plan that fell through. Embarrassing for the VA otherwise why so vague. Its just causing them more problems. They had to know this would happen. What ever happened had to have been worse then Vets left in the dark and overloaded VA employees.

Has anyone not gotten the letter and subsequently been paid?
We haven’t recieved a letter but when my husband called he was told he WOULD be receiving the check? Confusing.

This is probably pointless as you sound pretty bitter, but here goes anyway. Most of the vets i know do work other jobs because disability is not enough. Most of the vets i know had to wait from months to years and tread through tons of red tape before getting there disability check. Most of the vets i know are tired of being promised something and getting jack in the end. so i guess my point to you is to focus your anger in a positive way instead of acting like a child which is embarrassing to most vets.

My husband received his payment today and we never received a letter we assumed we wouldn’t receive it due to the fact we are paying the irs from 2007 but as of June 23 he has his payment his birthday is Jan 30 and his last two are 36 and we live in Texas. Good luck everyone

I got mine in direct deposit this morning. Looks like they are using the snafu method of check dispersal. Which is not at all uncommon for the VA.

I agree with you. First, we are all Vets and fought for the same result. Just at different times. Some were drafted, I volunteered. The bitterness should not be directed at our brother and sister Vets. Most of us do have full time jobs. And, yes it took quite some time for our disability to kick in. My father once told me……don’t bitch about something you have no control over. Well, if we don’t stick together and work as a “team”, we will lose control. Anyway, I was advised that the checks are in control of the U.S. Treasurery and the only input the VA has is to supply the names of the DV’s that are eligible.

Just received a call from our local VA Office. If anyone is paying child support irregardless if you are delinquent, you will NOT receive a stimulus. He said this goes for anyone who has a VA loan or owes the Govt. money for anything. Even if payments are on time. I’d like to hear from anyone who received their check and DOES owe money. I live in South Central PA, no check yet.

Mark I hope thats not true I am guessing my va copay comes out of my monthly benefit because they deduct something everymonth so I shouldnt expect a check then?
I guess the va will find any loophole to not pay out

2 co workers and I are VA rated and only one has received their check. He received it yesterday. There seems to be no method to the dispersal of funds at all. We all sat an went over are SSN last 2’s, B-days, service entry date/exit date, and branch. Maybe they have a list of names on a wall that they throw darts at to see who is next.
