$250 Stimulus Check In 2009 For Retirees, SSI and Disabled Vets

The 2009 stimulus package signed by president Obama contains quite a few financial stimulus for many different parts of the population.  Infrastructure spending, tax cuts make up most of the bill but one of the key aspects to the package is a special cash payment.  This won’t be like the general stimulus check of last year but will be given to select groups.

SO MY TYPING WAS BAD BUT AS A LITTLE BIT YES I HAVE KIDS AND I HAVE ALL MY PROBLEMS BUT NO ONE KNOWS WHAT I GO THROUGH EVEYDAY AND SHOULD NOT TELL ME WHAT I AM ALLOWED TO GET BECOUSE THEY DONT LIKE IT BECOUSE I HAVE AVN(BONE AND MUSCLE DITERIATION) AND EPLILEPSY DIABETIES AND OTHER THINGS SHOULD NOT SAY I CANT HAVE KIDS AND I SOULD FEEL ASHAMED WHEN I DID AND ALSO IF YOU GET SOME FORM OF SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT YOU SHOULD GET THE 250 PAYMENT WICH CAN HELP PEOPLE LIKE ME EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE SOME THAT THINK I SHOULD NOT GET IT BECOUSE I HAVE KIDS OR MY DISABILTY IS NOT AS BAD AS SOME FRIEND AS THERES OH WELL I AM AND I WILL HELP MY FAMILY WITH IT DONT LIKE THAT DO SOME THING TO CHANGE IT NOT BE RUDE ABOUT IT ON A BLOG

Before these checks go out…The Dept of Social Security should purge the rolls for people on SSI who receive it because of self induced “conditions” such as drug dependence/alcohol dependence. Eliminate them from this “rebate” this will free up money that is needed by legitimately injured people and soldiers like myself. Why should injured workers and soldiers of the many wars we have going on right now be considered as equals to wino’s,junkies, and flakes who know how to illegally play the system. I was seriously injured in the line of duty, have tried but was not able to finish school,or work due to my injuries, and now I am in a REAL struggle to get by. I have no kids,in or out of wedlock. Just 3 cats to soothe my PTSD,and a lot of drugs to deal with the pain of my extensive injuries. I almost lost it when “Barry The Jug Eared Bastard” tried to make up line-of-duty/combat injured vets pay for the often substandard care we receive from VA…but its all I got. For despite all the “We Support Our Troops” rhetoric I see every where, once an employer finds out you have extended injuries and need times off for VA care, and that you have a mild case of PTSD, Your escorted to the door with a “Thank You for applying,Don’t Call Us,We will call you. Meanwhile…I am barely making it on 950 a month. I won’t take food stamps,or use the food bank,I won’t go to the so called “free neighborhood clinics. And I get REAL pised off when illegals can get over the border, crap at a kid,and are handed the “keys to the country”…The keys that 10000’s of soldiers like me created by our blood, sweat, tears, exhaustion, and anguish.

Hi Alan,

Here is a link regarding the stimulus payments and who is eligible. There is lots of information here.
http://ssa.gov/payment/

Janet, I do not want to prolong any bitter kind of debate. I am very sorry that you are dealing with the health problems you have. I do believe that there are those who are taking advantage of the system. There will always be those people who hold the “wanting something for nothing” mindset. However, there are some who honestly need the help. The young man Chris, who enlisted in the military is doing no wrong. His VA benefits are administered to him because it is a benefit available in return for military service. He earned this benefit by serving overseas. He is also earning a degree and also works at the college part-time. So I see no further reason to continue the dialogue regarding him and what he chooses to do.

Growing up on welfare is very hard and indeed carries a stigma. I am glad you are able to work and support yourself. I am also glad that the others here who cannot work but have assistance and are not out in the streets. I truly believe that as a whole, there should be more focus on rehabilitation and assisting those on SSI to get back into the work force. Besides the financial aspects of being employed, there are obvious other benefits, such as a better social life, a sense of contribution, etc. In many ways, people on SSI are trapped and some are afraid to get out and work, however you can be employed and still receive SSI. With the economy as it is, it is a challenge for those looking for work. I believe if one can start an entrepreneurial venture, something build on a certain skill they have-to create their own job-will be the key.

Janet,

When are you going to actually read my posts? Can you not read because your disabled. I get $540 a month for disabilities relating to my term of service in the military. I don’t get enough to live off of without working. I did not ask to came back the way I did. I did what I thought was my duty. I suffer from insomnia, depression, difficulty concentrating, memory problems, easily angered, flashback, ect. These are lumped into a nice thing called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I don’t go around feeling sad thinking I need free money. I came back from Iraq a lot different person than when I left. Smell death, see death, experience death on a massive scale and see how you deal with things. This is not of my own making. You know where I get the rest of the money supporting myself? It called a job. I work at the employment office in my city helping other veterans find jobs of their own. Oh what, this “worthless” soldier has a job? Yes and you would know that by reading but I guess your disable so you don’t have to. Maybe I should tell the VA to stop my disability. Maybe I don’t need the counseling or medical care that comes with a VA disability rating. Maybe I deserve to be left to my own devices because of course it’s all my fault. I chose to go to Iraq, I chose to kill people, I chose to see people killed.

So now this is getting old. I’m repeating the same thing because your too lazy to read. This is my angry side just so you know. Janet your a worthless human being. You think your better than anyone else because of what your going through and how your dealing with it. Who are you to determine whether what other people are going through are worthy of needing help. I don’t got a husband to help me out. I do this on my own. I don’t know my dad, my mother passed away when I was 20. All I have in the way of family is my brother and my sister who live nowhere near me and don’t have the resources to help me. My brother is finishing up college to become a teacher and my sister raises three kids on her own.

So I’m damn proud of myself and what I’m able to do despite the crap I deal with on a daily basis. I deserve the disability I get. I more than earned it. If you believe that after fighting for this country that soldiers aren’t entitled to help than you have no credibility whatsoever.

So to sum up my arguement. Janet is a cunt.

People need to thoroughly read the posts before lashing out and judging those who are on disability. Trust me, you could be living the good life and have it taken from you. It happens all the time.

Honestly, is it that glamorous having to depend on the government for the meager month stipends that many of us get? Do we wake up every morning doing cartwheels of joy and the thought of getting $674.00 (or less) a month to pay all of our bills? Do we beam with pride as we swipe our food stamp cards at the local market? I mean seriously, are we living lavish lives here?

Chris, you should be proud of yourself. I could not imagine witnessing what you did in Iraq, and having to get through my days, school full-time, hold a job and deal with PTSD. Many vets get substandard care after returning home.

Besides my Mom-who is a lovely soul, I too, have little to no other family. I struggle with bipolar disorder and PTSD issues. I often am depressed because I wish could just get out there and take on the world. I feel trapped inside a mind that doesn’t work as I want it to. I have many strengths and abilities that I feel are treaded on when prideful, arrogant, types criticize me and my situation. These people do not realize how truly blessed they are to have people in their lives to help them, and a steady job.

I read the posts by veterans here and my heart goes out to you.

oh now i am scared, the poor little piss poor excuse for a soldier has called me a mean name. I guess that really showes your true personality. You know back in the day soliders went off to war and came back to the us and work. My grandfater was in the war he worked every day till he was just too old to work. He lost his leg and one of his hands. But he always told me that no matter what he would strive to be proud. He always told me that i have to work to make my family proud. And that is what i have done. Just a question chris have you ever died. I was pronounced dead in 2000. To this day a lot of my probblems are due to a car accident. But do i cry to the goverment that i am too sick to work NO. I am an upstanding citizen unlike you who uses the war as a sickness. My brother was in the war as i said but he still does not live off the goverment. He uses the va only for his medication. But he still is contributing to society. You really need to get a life and quit cring that you need the bennifits you are once again a poor excuse for a solider………

You died? Yet despite all your disabilities, raising disabled kids, and working you have nothing better to do then bashing people you don’t know. People who gave up their freedoms to fight for yours. I had friends I’ll never see because of what went on over there. You think that would give you some compassion or a newfound love of life. Instead it turned you into a bitter women. Is your husband happy about your attitude? Is this the example you set for your kids? Of all the things to do in your world you choose to bash disabled people on a message board. People who you don’t know and never will. You have this sense that your better than everyone else. You believe that you are having a more difficult time with your disability and that your better than everyone because of it. Then you show your true character behind the mask of the internet. A bitter human being. Yes, I called you a cunt. It’s not a true indicator of my personality but rather a indication of how I feel about you. No, I won’t do anything physical or harm you in anyway. I don’t know where you live but I put my address minus my apartment number in one of my post. Why did I do that? Because I’m looking to hide behind anything. My full name is also somewhere as well. Luckily for all of us who need help, unlike you who is probably is responsible for your own situation, the majority of American are compassionate and realize the need to take care of the soldiers that put their life on the line for the country. Unfortunately, you’ll never understand what a sacrafice that actually is. Stories coming from your Grandpa doesn’t count. Urban warfare is far different then trench warfare. Now considering your way of thinking I should mention I don’t think I’m any better than soldier from WWII. I have great respect for all who sacrafice themselves for America but comparing Iraq with with WWII is like camparing apples to oranges. Comparing different soldiers experiences in similar wars is also the same. I was over in Iraq when it first started. What I’ve seen would make most puke so don’t even think you know me or anyone close to me. Do you even know how hard it is to get SSI or Veteran Compensation? This isn’t workers comp. It isn’t money that’s just handed out willy nilly but I assume you know this because judging by your attitute I’m pretty sure you got turned down for disability yourself. Here is some advice. You don’t have to take it but here it goes: The world doesn’t revolve around you. You do not have it worse than everyone else. Just because you don’t need disability doesn’t mean other people don’t. Quit attacking people you don’t know because in the end your don’t know what they’re are going through. Be grateful you’re alive and enjoy it because their are a lot worse things.

This is just terrible, to see this kind of hate and anger. What has become of the american people? Janet, you really need to take a look in the mirror, and not be quick to judge. The vile language being used here is absolutely disgusting. Where is the respect and manners?

SSI is very difficult to get, as are VA benefits. Janet, why do you need to utter such filthy words on a public forum? Is that what you represent morally? Do you think that just because a person can walk and talk that they can’t have a disability?

This is a huge joke. I agree the retirees and vets should get the check, but come on.. SSI! Heck while we are at it, why don’t we give more FREE heathcare to the bums, drug addicts, and criminals with OUR tax money. How about these people who are on SSI cause they are addicted to pain medicine but yet the govt still gives them everything they need. I for one know about a woman in Ohio who is only 34 and is addicted to having surgeries to get pain medicine. She got a FREE boob job though the state of Ohio, (yes implants) and she lives in a 3 story house with rent of 1200 per month paid by our tax money, she gets all her heathcare FREE, medicines including those painkillers FREE, gets her elect, water, sewer, and gas bill for FREE. Also she is now living by herself and still getting over $300 a month in food stamps…but get this..she hits up not 1 but 16 area churches for food! EVERY month. She sells what she dosent want to neighbors. She ran up over 300,000 in dept, credit cards, store cards, furniture ..etc filled bankruptcy. Now she is free and clear.. SHE sold all the EXTRA stuff she bought she no longer wanted.
So.. tell me.. why should people like her get more money? If the govt wants to cut spending.. CUT people like this OUT.

Look Janet, before you write me off, (along with all other SSI recipients as total failures), I agree that there are those who are abusing the system. I used to live in an apartment complex and knew of an unmarried couple who both got SSI. Together, they received over $1200.00 a month plus food stamps and had a rental subsidy, yet would be broke by the middle of the month, bumming cigarettes off of retired elderly residents. Those scenarios upset me and irk me to no end. If people are getting SSI it should be used wisely, not to blow on cigarettes, etc. I think the government could do better with this payments and instead direct the money toward putting disabled persons back into the workforce. Oh, and Janet I would never steal your identity. After all, why would I want to be you?

don’t count on this check, if you owe the va anything, it will be applied to your va bill, meaning, you get nothing or very little. the va will be paid first.

The way the economy is headed, there is a chance we won’t even get this check.

Yes Janet, there are those that ause the system, but then there are those that don’t.

My wife is disabled, four back operations in 9 years and receives SSDI payments THAT ARE TAXED! Because of the amount of my retirement pension 70% of her benefits are subject to income tax. Whats more, when she initially applied for benefits with she was denied then had to hire an attorney to appeal. She won the appeal and received a lump cash payment from the date she was disabled. The attorney received $5200 of the settlement, but the entire amount was taxed, even the attorney’s fee she had to hire to get the benefits she worked paid for and was entitled to. BTW, only 50% of the attorney’s fee was deductible on income tax.
The SS pays out of the fund, but our fine upstanding government taxes the benefits and the money goes to the general fund, not back into the SS. Another way they rob the the SS system.
So now, she is getting $250 back, a token portion of the thousands of taxes she paid in over the last three years. GREAT! It will go towards our PROPERTY TAXES!

Who is abusing the “System”?

Bill, that is just terrible that your wife worked to have that money and then then get a mere pittance after the ordeal. So much for it being social “security.” You have both worked your whole lives and should not have to suffer this way. This is why many people never get off welfare, they know what they will lose if they do.

My question is I am A Vet that get Dis. Check from the VA .For Injury I rec’d while in the Air Force. I only get 20% for it. Do I get A $250 Stimulas Package check.. Because last year I rec’d nothing..This package is so confusing to find out who get whaat. We need plan english so that everyone can understand what these people in Washington DC are talking about. on who get what and what it about.Because I have been all over the net to find answer .And all you get is Bull after bull. With no real answer to the main question. (An over view)Please tell me who get what(Do I get the Stimulas or not

Hi Thomas, I posted below the SSA website with details on the stimulus. Heather, I agree that things are not going in a positive direction for the economy. $250 is not that great in the whole scope of things. I really don’t think anyone knows if they are getting it or not.
http://www.ssa.gov/payment/ has more information about the stimulus

im sure gonna enjoy the stimulus,250 bucks is a big help when u live on 674 a month yippee!

I think it is a blessing. My husband died in Nov. I just found a job, but my paycheck basically goes to the babysitter. I am able to survive off SSI(just barely). Every little bit counts. At least it will be a boost in my opinion! I am excited I will actually have some money I can hold onto for more than a week- oh yeah- I’m a penny pincher!

Heather- there has been am income increase in your paycheck. It may be small, but it will add up to way more than 250. Keep your head up, love. Things will get better eventually. Seriously, there has been an increase of all wages. I hope you get to feelin a little better.

why are so many people bitching about the simulus checks i understand every little bit helps so shut up and be grateful now i dont think its fair that alot of people get nothing at all there should be something for everyone alot of you dumbasses just want a hand out and screw the system for every penny and that usually screws it for others o and you give alittle raise on food stamps mostly to those loosers screwing the system and that hurts those who nned it most yea i went ther who wants aword with me

why are so many people bitching about the simulus checks i understand every little bit helps so shut up and be grateful now i dont think its fair that alot of people get nothing at all there should be something for everyone alot of you dumbasses just want a hand out and screw the system for every penny and that usually screws it for others o and you give alittle raise on food stamps mostly to those loosers screwing the system and that hurts those who nned it most yea i went ther who wants aword with me

I see Janet, that you in your arrogant pride, cannot resist the urge to insult people via vulgar language, rhetorical arguing and the gross misspelling of words. Anyone who spends fifty dollars per week on dining out, or $200.00 per month in this economy, has some serious budgeting problems.

Renee, I too am frugal. It is important especially for those on fixed incomes. I am grateful for the money and realize that it does come from taxpayers. I am not blind to it and know that because of that I have the assistance.

janet well it looks like a few people are putting u in your place u have done alot of people wrong with your mouth running im here to say lol haha u deserve it what u dont no how to respond i honestly believe u are nothing but low class scum with nothing its time u shut your trap

What about me I am a caregiver for my mother I have went into debt because her ssi was not enough for her to live on in Indiana, so I had to move her in with me in kentucky and she found out after she moved here she would even get less money living in ky. It is a joke who are they to say which group of people are suffering the most WE ALL ARE SUFFERING!
Is her turning into a dictator??

I have to live on a lowsy$2099.00 a month ,but I will gladly except the $250.00 because I paid into social security for 45 years never got food stamps ,welfare rent subsidy’s ,medicade, some of you people know how to milk the system and the goverment supports you Have a little self respect and get a job

As a disabled person who worked and paid taxes for 30 years before I am became disabled, I am appalled at some of the nasty and completely racist, predujiced, sexist, judgmental, holier than thou pieces of ….. on this site who seem to think that everyone who is disabled is a junkie, alcoholic or deadbeat. A VERY VERY small less than 1% of people on disability do not belong on it, the rest would not survive without it.

I have been doing community service organizing for 14 years and I will tell you even though I can’t work, I am giving back. But the way some people on this site belittle and bemoan others is a disgusting display of the WORST individuals in OUR society. The supposed compassionate conservatives ARE THE PRIME EXAMPLE of TRUE HYPOCRITES!!! Christians? What would Jesus do? Would he belittle, turn away, berate, willingly harm or turn his back on this group? Seems to me that there are alot of ignorant individuals posting here who need to take a LOOK IN THE MIRROR. For Christsakes, grow up and stop calling people who are disabled, disenfranchised or already trampled beyond recognition a bunch of worthless deadbeats. I assure you that the majority of US are NOT what you scream about.

how can so many of u be so mean im disabled with 3 kids lifes hard out there be thankful for what u have every penny counts sorry janet i dont have a money tree in my back yard if i did i wouldnt be happy i really dont think u are either i agree with braylin open your eyes be thankful u might not be here tomorrow

will i get a stimulus check for my sister she recives survior benefits and im her payee and guardian

Im 18 and have custody of my sister because our parents passed away and i work 2 good jobs to support her but she recives survior benefits and i just wanted to know if the ones who recive that get the stimulus check too

I agree with you David. I am appalled at many of the comments. It is very hypocritical-kicking a person when they are already down.

I believe that there are some commenting here who are using different nicknames that link to a “lol” website. This kind of behavior is juvenile and I caught it a while back.

This is my last post. All I can say is to those of you who are struggling with a disability, just trying to get by day to day-God bless you and I wish you the best. To the nay-sayers and those who bash others-take a good look in the mirror. “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”

actually shannon there is a lol web site that over 200 people use so youve got that much right but as far as names nope youl never no now yeap ive had 5 friends commenting against alot of the comments how do you no its lol anyway

ok why are so many people bashing each other who cares what web site duh thousands of people use lol who doesnt no that as far as nick names come on who uses there real name i think all that matters is look how bad of mind were in all because of money

Our ancestors did not have government programs to feed them, buy them medicines, give them insurance, pay the doctor bills etc. They worked and took care of their own…they did not expect someone else to take care of them. I think a lot of what is wrong with society today is so many people feel entitled…we are raising our children to feel they are DUE something just because they exist. We are not teaching good commoon sense values and hard work. Why is it the government’s (tax payers) responsibility to care for you and your family. If you cannot afford to take care of children, then don’t have them. If you are disabled and can’t work, then don’t bring children into the world expecting ME and others to support them. I feel sorry for those who are ill or disabled, but I don’t feel that I am to support them. I will take care of me and my extended family the best I can and will not expect you to support me. I think we need to encourage people to work, remember the days when women took in washing and ironing ? Even mentally challenged women can wash and iron for money…men can cut grass, weed lawns, wash cars, do handy man work….everyone can do something to feed themselves. Grow a garden and feed your family. Be creative…figure out a way to make it without expecting other than your family to help you! Help America become a strong nation like it once was…WORK and provide for your own family!

Don’t you people understand that these comments is EXACTLY what’s wrong with the world? MONEY, MONEY, MONEY… You’re all bitching about having to wait on money. That’s all anyone cares about anymore and that’s why there’s so much crime and hatred in the world.. anybody will do anything for a dollar and that’s horrible. This makes me want to make to some poor foreign country and get away from all this mess. I think if we started all over with NOTHING, everyone would be a lot more thankful for what they have.

other are getting letters that they are reciecing the 250 i havent got a letter im on ssi and my only in come please do i need to call them

my child is 5 years old and receives SSI benefits i was wondering if she is going to get the $250 stimulus check being she is under 18 years of age?

Best thing to do is to ignore the trolls on here. I’m not responding any more to the nonsense being spouted off by troll on the internet. It’s all I I I I I, lacks any coherant or intelligent arguments, and in the end it’s just the minority opinion being spread by those with nothing better to do. Can’t wait to get my check. I think considering all the hate going around here I’m going to need a pick me up so I think I just might blow it all on something useless to piss people here off. Stay tuned and I’ll post a link with pictures that show what I decided to do with it. Well, I have to get ready for school and then work so to all you who aren’t a bunch of trolls I wish you all the best.

Dear Jay and Melissa , I do understand your greef of not having a job. But please don’t thumb your nose at it. As you may notice the ONE TIME payment of 250.00 is mostly for people that are NOT able to work. And would’nt bennifet at the new jobs and employment extensions and such. WE need those dollars as few as they may be. I say thank you Pres.Obama for the hand out and look for the hand up.Keep your chin up Jay and Melissa your day is coming. Untill then use those dollars thats being offerd to you. (((hugs to you both)))

i think everybody who work should get a check for say 50,000 and dont bail out big companys that is a waste of money .if you give everyone 50,000 people will spend money and help the economy .we will buy homes and cars stuff we need pay off the bank.they keep giving money to the companys and the keep asking for more cause the working people have no money to spent.if we did it WOULD HELP EVERYONE THE COMPNAYS AND THE EVERY DAY PERSON WHO WORKS HARD AND PAYS TAXES BUT WE PAY MORE TAXES TO GIVE GM AND OTHER COMPANYS MONEY AND THAT IS NOT HELPING THE WORKING CLASS INLESS THEY WORK THERE

THANKS
IM DREAMING THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN

THE GROVERMENT NEVER LISTENS TO THE SMALL PEOPLE

MATT

this is to you janet and people like you….
first of all, i sit here in disgust! you are too good for benefits… but you can’t spell!
you people that sit here and look down your nose at those less fortunate than yourself. you should be ashamed.
you sit and pass judgement on those you know nothing about. god is the only one to judge us!
i am someone who is on disability. i am 36 and have worked my butt off since i was 14. last year, my back was broken, not at work or a wreck, but by a crazed idiot that broke into my house! i was held and beaten for two days. (i can count myself lucky i wasn’t raped too.) i am use to making $3000.00 to $5000.oo a month, now i live on less than $1000.00. i lost my home, car, my health and my mind over it. i’ve had 2 surgeries, another on the way, nerve root and s-i injections every 4 weeks so i can get out of bed in the mornings, physical therapy 3x’s a week, had to lower myself to drive a car that is 12 years old and beat up, and i live in housing projects with the people who are abusing the system. that pisses me off to… it makes those of us who do need it look bad. i am single and no i don’t have a slew of children, i have none. i don’t get food stamps and pay about 300 a month out of pocket for meds and copay’s each month. believe me, this isn’t the life i want for myself and i’d give anything to go back to work… but at this point it’s not possible. i couldn’t work in the same profession i was in, and there is no way i could afford my medical unless i have medicaid/medicare. you know what else… after my back is better, i plan on staying on disability and letting them pay for my education since i will never be able to do the job i’ve done for 15 years and love.
i do understand that there are plenty of people out there that do abuse the system, i see them everyday! in my apartment complex i think there is probably about 50-60 people on ssi or disability and including myself, i think maybe 10-15 actually need it. so i do understand where you are coming from on that… but you can’t sit back and stereotype people and say we are ALL that way. i hope and pray you never have to be in my situation and before you judge someone else, you think about what i’ve said.

(Haha Chris! I can’t wait to see what you buy!) I might just splurge on something myself.

What baffles me is how some of those commenting here have never met me, nor do they know my background yet they make a judgement and resort to name-calling and vulgar language to get their point across. It is truly disgraceful. Heg, I am very sorry that you are going through so much pain. I too, am single and don’t have a “brood of kids” or am “milking the system.”

I am fed up with the low life remarks being made on this forum. The article posted here was done so to notify persons on SSI that recipients will be getting a $250 stimulus payment, not to give folks permission to hurl insults. Oh, and fyi-there is a publication being mailed out to those on SSI and getting VA benefits that explains the payment in further detail.

I’m not going to waste it. It will go to pay one of my bills. It just irks me that some people would have nothing better to do then to put down people coming here to find information. Some person called me a worthless soldier who should kill myself. What type of horrible individual spouts off such hate disregarding the fact they don’t know what people with disabilities are going through. They are not just here to get a hand out. They need help and they appreciate it when they get it.

I’m a 28 year old Iraq war veteran that suffers from PTSD. It gotten a little better with treatment but if it wasn’t for VA compensation I would probably be homeless right now because for a several months I didn’t even want to leave my house. I would get about 3 to 4 hours of sleep a night and dream about death and war. I felt as if I didn’t fit in anymore. I couldn’t really talk to anyone because their was no one that would relate to my experiences. There’s a lot of other things that I don’t want to discuss here but it hasn’t been an exactly easy adjustment.

I’m just glad that those typing hate filled comments are the minority. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same person just looking for attention. I think the best tactic is to just ignore them and act as if they didn’t even post a comment because judging by the content of those comments, whoever is writing them is probably lonely and looking for attention whether it be good or bad. It sad really.

thank you shannon for your concern 🙂
to chris…
you know what kills me the most is that ungrateful bitch that wants to sit and dog you out… YOU PUT YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR HER FREEDOM!!!!! and that is the thanks you get. god doesn’t like ugly and her karma will come back to her. she says she is better than us… in all reality she is just miserable. misery loves company! she’s probably just upset because she can’t get on SSD and her lazy ass still has to work! she says she is an executive in the largest cellular or phone company or whatever… she can’t even spell correctly so i have a hard time believing that. she probably has 5 kids no father for them and makes 6 bucks an hour at mcdonald’s! so you take pride in knowing that YOU ARE BETTER THAN HER, and you will have your good karma come back to you for defending us… and she will have her bad karma for the way she has treated a true hero. bless you!

Thank you, Mr. Obama, maybe this $250 will make a dent in the $17,000 loss I’m taking on our home we had to sell to make an Air Force directed move…NOT!!! The white house can take this check and SHOVE it!!!!!

I note others asking that since they did not get a notice about the $250 check is there a reason that they did not get a notice? I have tried to find out about this but to no avail.
